The short version
- Place a digit
Place a digit
Put a piece on a closed cell. The right digit opens it, a wrong one benches the piece for the rest of the board, and a mine blows up whatever digit you brought.
- Flag and pass through
Flag and pass through
Raise a flag where you suspect a mine. A rook, bishop or queen running through it defuses the mine; if there was none, the piece stops on a question mark and you lose 10 points.
- Read the sensors
Read the sensors
Every piece on the board shows a number. White counts the mines in the closed cells it attacks, black counts the closed cells there that hide its own digit.
One board a day
Everyone plays the same 6×6 board. A new one lands at midnight UTC, and you get one go at it: a lost board is lost for the day. Defuse every mine to win. There is no clock; your score goes on the result card in pawns.
Finish and you get a grid of squares to paste anywhere: what stayed closed, what you opened, the mines you defused and the ones that blew up, and your score:
Come back the next day and the card keeps count of your streak.
